Message from the 2026 PRTESOL President

 

Since the beginning of my journey with PRTESOL, I have grown, learned, and developed an even deeper love for our profession. I never imagined becoming President of this organization, and I feel an honor that is truly difficult to put into words. Each year is a new chapter; each event, another story woven into the rich narrative of PRTESOL.​

This journey is one that takes a village. PRTESOL stands strong today. It has been more than 50 years of excellence because of the unwavering leadership, dedication, and commitment of the many individuals who have worked tirelessly throughout their history.

 

The 2026 Board of Directors is committed to ensuring a year filled with meaningful professional development opportunities for all educators who wish to be part of our community.  This year is also a tribute to those who came before me, our Past Presidents. They are the foundation on which we stand. Past Presidents are the visionaries, the storytellers, the mentors who paved the way. Their stories will guide and inspire my presidency. To each of them, thank you for your leadership, your dedication, and the legacy you have built.

 

To all teachers: As your 2026 President, I stand before you deeply grateful and profoundly inspired. Together, we will honor the past by recognizing those who built, led, and dreamed before us, while continuing to write new stories that will shape the future of our profession. Every teacher carries a story. Every classroom holds a story, and each of us is part of PRTESOL’s living story. I invite you to join us in our many activities throughout the year. You can find our calendar of events on our social media platforms, and I hope to see you at our convention in November.
